LINEVILLE - Services for Alfred Preston Jenkins, 68, of Lineville, Rt. 3, were today at Bowden Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Hollis Horn, the Rev. A A. Jacobs and the Rev. Joe Harris officiating. Burial was in Clay County Memory Gardens with Brock Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Jenkins died Saturday at his residence after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Crawford Jenkins of Lineville, Rt. 3; a daughter, Mrs. Helin Jenkins Turnip-seed of Dallas, Texas.; two sisters, Mrs. Exa Finch and Mrs. Vema Lee Birchfield, both of Ashland; three brothers, Dennis Jenkins of Sulligent, Troy Jenkins of Ashland and Hoyt Jenkins of Lineville; and a granddaughter. Pallbearers were Paul Jenkins, Alton Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Arthur Jenkins, Jimmy Jenkins and David Knight. Mr. Jenkins was a native of Ashland and had lived in Illinois and Indiana for 20 years before returning to Clay County five years ago. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Bowden Grove Baptist Church.
