Soon after high school he joined the Air Force and traveled to places like Okinawa and lived in Guam for 2 years. He returned to the states and was stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX. He married in 1970 and moved back the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. He had his first daughter Amy Leanne in 1971 and Kimberly Denise in 1974. He worked for Affiliated Food Stores for 17 years. He then was self-employed doing circular ads for small grocery stores. He started metal detecting/treasure hunting in 1980 and loved to hunt battlefields. He loved to paint and build model airplanes. He was a huge history buff and could tell you a story or two. He loved being a native Texan. He struggled many years after he divorced but married the love his life and soul mate, Janet Carr. In the last 5 years of his life, he enjoyed spending time at the lake on his boat. He loved his dogs who were his loyal friends. He had an awesome sence of humor and loved to tell ghost stories around a campfire.

He had been diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread. He underwent brain surgery in June 2007 and due to complications from surgery, he passed away on July 18, 2007. He will forever be in the hearts of those that knew him. He cherished his family and friends. Please never let the memory of him fade.
