Brother of Gordon Lee Nelson, Billy Andrew Nelson, Norma Faye Nelson Ashley, Wynona Suzanne Nelson Thomas, Hazel Ruth Nelson Davis, Joe "Little Brother" Evert Nelson, and Anita "Frankie" Francis Nelson Webster.

Obituary:

Services for Charles "Bud" Nelson, 53 of Antlers, Oklahoma, were held Thursday, August 6, 1998, at 10:00am in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel. Officiating were Rev. Hershel Reed & Rev. Robert Spurgeon.

Bud passed away, Friday, July 31, 1998 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Charles Nelson was born January 31, 1945, in McAlester, Oklahoma to Clarence Lee and Ethel (Heady) Nelson. Bud had lived in Houston recently, but his home before that had been either Hugo or Antlers. Mr. Nelson had been a meat cutter at Pruitts Grocery in Antlers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Effie Ethel Nelson-Minton in March of 1998 and his father, Clarence Nelson in November of 1948.

He is survived by two sons: Scott Nelson of Fort Towson, Oklahoma and Brad Nelson of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers: Gordon Nelson of Tolleson, Arizona; and Bill Nelson of Sun Valley, NV; four sisters: Anita Webster and Norma Ashley both of Sawyer, Oklahoma; Suzanne Thomas of Granbury, Texas and Hazel Davis of Houston, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Following the services, interment was in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.
Services were under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo, Oklahoma.
