Ronald Swift, Ron as he was known by most, passed from this earthly life to eternity in his home on February 26, 2020. Funeral services will be held March 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be at 10:00 am at Wayman Chapel A.M.E Church 407 E Ave D Temple TX 76501.

Interment will be 1 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2020, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, with full military honors.

Ronald Swift was born April 11, 1943 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was one of ten children born to Laney and Beatrice Swift. Ron grew up and completed his education in Chattanooga, and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1964. After serving three years and three months, he was honorably discharged. Ron was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, and was decorated for his service there.

Ron married his wife Catline on December 28, 1988 in Waco, Texas. They made their home in Crawford where they were residing at the time of his passing. Ron worked in several positions in the service area, which he enjoyed, and retired from the Waco Center for Youth. After retiring, he could not sit idly at home, so worked part time as a driver. Ron’s wife Catline is a retired AME pastor, and he worked by her side and supported her in every way he could in her pastorates. He especially liked the singing ministry.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Laney and Beatrice, brothers James and Lionel Swift, and sister Claudine Hunter.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Catline Swift, His children Rochelle Harris (Quincy) of GA., Ronald D’Angelo Swift of TN., Adrian S. Cisco (Bryan), James A. Sneed, and Avery Redd all of TX. A brother David Swift(Tommie), sisters Katie Mae Swift, Sandra McIntosh, Ethel Johnson, Linda Swift and Terrie Barnes (Athnel). He also leaves many grandchildren, nieces and nephews to remember him.
