Jean was born the daughter of Drury J. and Anna Geneva "Bess" (Stimmler) Bonderer on November 20, 1932, in Utica, Missouri.
She graduated from Utica High School in 1951.
She was united in marriage to Richard D. McGrath on August 2, 1954, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Utica, Missouri. He preceded her in death in December, 1954.
Jean was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, baking, her animals, going to the casinos, camping outdoors, and playing bingo.
She loved her family and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include son, and wife of Van Meter, Iowa; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; two sisters, Betty Ann Radcliff, and Julia Goetting; brothers Sgt. Thomas "Tom" Edward Bonderer, and Col. Lawrence Flavian Bonderer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., with a visitation to follow.
Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, Wednesday, March 4, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
