Betty Ann Radcliff, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at her residence.
Betty was born the daughter of Drury J. and Anna Bess (Stimmler) Bonderer on February 19, 1930, in Avalon, Missouri. She was a 1947 graduate of St. Josephs Academy, Chillicothe, Missouri. She then attended Northwest Missouri University, Maryville, Missouri. She was united in marriage to C. Raymond Radcliff on May 24, 1953, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Utica, Missouri. He survives of the home. Betty taught school at the Gibbs and Greene Rural Schools and was the Secretary and Bookkeeper of Family Owned, Radcliff Construction. She was a member of the St. Columban’s Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Chillicothe Garden Club, Nineteen Club, Charter Member of the Chilli Campers, Chillicothe Pinochle Card Group, Community 4H Club Leader for many years, Secretary of the Livingston County 4-H and FFA Fair. Betty was the first Chapter Mother to receive the Chillicothe FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer Degree. She loved her grandchildren, camping and fishing, playing cards, and lots of laughter and she loved raising roses.
Survivors include one daughter Julie Marie Bothwell and husband Barrie of Mooresville, Missouri; two sons, Steven Raymond Radcliff and wife Betty Sue of Chillicothe, Missouri; and Paul Joseph Radcliff and wife Kathleen of Chillicothe, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Hesler (Luke) of Platte City, Missouri, Katie Skipper (Ryan) of O’Fallon, Missouri, Kerry Radcliff (Zach) of Osage Beach, Missouri, Benjamin Radcliff (Emily) of Chillicothe, Missouri, Brandon and Brady Bothwell of Mooresville, Missouri, and Nicholas Radcliff of Chillicothe, Missouri; two sisters, Jean McGrath of Hamilton, Missouri, and Julia Goetting of Carrollton, Missouri; two brothers Drury (D.J.) Bonderer Jr. and wife Cheryl of Winston, Missouri and James Bonderer of St. Louis, Missouri; three sister-in-laws Lou Bonderer of Cameron, Missouri, Anna Mae Stephens of Winnsboro, Texas, and Esther Scholle and husband Kenneth of Smithville, Missouri; and twenty-two nieces and nephews. She was a godmother to several of them. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Sgt. Thomas E. Bonderer, 1968 in Vietnam, and Col. Lawrence F. Bonderer, retired, 1988 in a tractor accident; and three brother-in-laws Richard McGrath, Vern Goetting and Don Stephens.
