Found Dead
George Jackson, of Stark, commonly known as "Short George", left his home on the county line last Tuesday morning for Chillicothe. His horse came home during the night, and near night Wednesday the news came that he was dead at Lawn Ridge, at Jim Campbell's house. So far, no one knows how he came to his death. The result of the inquest is not reported at last accounts.
Wyoming Post Herald Thurs. April 4, 1889
Coroner Zimmerman of Marshall county, held an inquest last Wednesday at Lawn Ridge over the body of "Short" George Jackson of the south county line, who died suddenly at the house of Jim Campbell the night previous. The coroner's investigation developed the fact that Jackson had been down to Chillicothe on Tuesday, where he had drank considerable liquor, and on the way home he had stopped at Campbell's place with two or three others, all more or less intoxicated, when he suddenly sank down and expired. The coroners jury rendered a verdict that death was caused by the bursting of a bloodvessel in the brain.
