SMALLWOOD, Isaac C. - Of Flushing, age 98, died Tuesday, July 30, 2007 at Fostrian Court Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held 12Noon Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Rossell Funeral Home, Chaplain Robert Coen officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-9PM Wednesday and 10AM-12PM Thursday at the funeral home. Isaac was born in Gladwin, MI on August 3, 1908, the son of Isaac and Esther (Huntley) Smallwood. He married Rose Coutts. She preceded him in death on July 1, 1994. Isaac retired February 1, 1967 from Buick Motor Division, Plant 36, after 39 years of service. He enjoyed playing Euchre and was an avid hunter. Surviving are: daughter, Rosemary and husband Bernard Thomas of Fenton; son, Dennis and wife Sharon Smallwood of Flushing; daughters-in-law, Madeline Smallwood of Linden, Audrey Smallwood of Burton; son-in-law, Richard Summerfield of Flushing; many loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Esther Summerfield; 4 sons, Isaac, Jr., John, Donald and wife Edna, and James. Special thanks to the staff at Fostrian Court for their loving care.
