William was born to John Corse and Susannah Coale at the Rigby House, the home of his paternal grandmother, Cassandra Rigbie Corse. He ran a nursery at his home, Furley Hall, off Bel Air Road, across the Herring Run (river). William married Deborah Sinclair 13 Apr 1831 at Friends Meeting House, Lombard St., Baltimore, MD, and had eleven children.
