Gospel Herald - Volume XLVII , Number 6 - February 9, 1954 --- page 142, 143 Zehr, Amanda, daughter of the late Jacob and Barbara Bender, was born in East Zorra, Ont., March 11, 1892; passed away at her home in Tavistock, Jan. 12, 1954; aged 52 y*. 10 m. 1 d. She entered the bonds of matrimony with Menno Zehr in November 1915. She was a member of the East Zorra A. M. congregation. Two sons preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, 4 sons, and 2 daughters (Henry and Viola-Mrs. Wilfred Kropf, of Philipsburg; Stanley and Elroy, of Tavistock; Lorne, of Bright, and Ida, at home), two brothers and 3 sisters (Noah and Mansseh, of East Zorra; Emma-Mrs. Albert Oesch of Milverton, Ida-Mrs. Simon Bender, of Ailsa Craig; Christina-Mrs. Norman Roi, of East Zorra), 10 grandchildren, one aunt, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the East Zorra A. M. Church in charge of Jesse Short and Henry Yantzi. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
