Houston Martin Turner, age 91, of 1400 Staunton Street, Selma, Virginia died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at The Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation in Low Moor.

He was born November 8, 1928 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Arthur and Lillian Martin Turner. He was a sheet metal worker for the railroad, retired after 46 years went on to enjoy his retirement for another 30 years. He was a hard worker who enjoyed the outdoors and his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Imogene Mays Turner of Selma; two daughters, Linda Peters, and husband Donnie, of Shallotte, NC, and Teresa Smith, and husband Jackie of Callaghan; two grandchildren, Stephanie Deffinbaugh, and husband Paul, and Donnie Peters, Jr., and wife Jill; three great grandchildren, Brandyn Deffinbaugh, Kristyn Deffinbaugh, and Emily Peters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will visit with friends on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
