Reed, Earl J., age 83 of Germantown passed away peacefully at his residence on February 20th, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born in Berea, KY to the late Alson and Marie (Pearson) Reed and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Germantown. Earl was a welder and did maintenance work for more than 40 years at Harris & Thomas in Dayton, OH. He loved being outside working in the yard or gardening and especially loved spending time with his family. Along with his parents Earl was preceded in death by his son Michael Reed and his brother David Reed. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Wanda (Bowman) Reed, his sons Ray (Peggy) Reed and Eddie (Mechael) Reed, grandchildren Michael Reed, Jennifer Foster, Holly Applegate, Doug Reed, Josh Reed, Brie Reed, Caitlyn Robinson, and Ethan Wilson, great grandchildren Madison Applegate, Cole Foster, Bennie Keaton, his brother Johnny Reed and his sisters Dorothy VanWinkle, Edna Wagers, and Peggy Clemons and numerous extended family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 11:00am at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown with Pastor Bob Reed officiating. Interment immediately following at Germantown Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the funeral home from 6-8PM.
