He proudly served in the United States Air Force, most notably with the 812th SUPRON (SAC) during the Korean War and earned the National Defense Service medal.
He loved the Kentucky Wildcats, playing Euchre with his fellow veterans, treating his friends and family out to a good meal, and taking his beloved Brenda to play Bingo, out dancing and traveling. For Tommy, there were no steps, his wife's children were his as well and he loved them with all his heart. Selfless to a measure that could be a standard to live by, he was truly that guy who would do anything for anyone and expect nothing in return.
His beloved grandchildren adored their Pappaw and loved nothing more than spoiling them rotten. He was quite the child whisperer and when there were tears or a need for a nap, Tommy's shoulders were always the best spot.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Bill, Clay, Charles, James, Bob, June, and Louise, as well as his daughter in law Deborah.
He leaves behind his wife Brenda, his daughter Angela (Jim) Dial, his sons Rodney (Dana) Estep, and Christopher Estep. His grandson, Justin (Courtney) Dial, grand daughter McKenna Jo Estep, great granddaughter Olivia Grace Dial, and great grandson Charlie Parker Dial.
Graveside Honors will take place Friday, March 20th at Noon at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky.
For those that wish to honor him, the family asks in lieu of flowers that you do so by offering an act of kindness to a veteran in need, perhaps out for a meal, a ride to a VA appointment, or spend some time visiting the home or hospital of those who have served our country.
