Charles William Crawford, 86, of Uniontown, died peacefully, Sunday, May 19, 2019. He was born January 27, 1933, in Uniontown, a son of James William Crawford and Phoebe Crum Crawford. In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald Crawford, Dick Crawford and Robert Crawford; three sisters, Sally Mahoney, Vivian Thomas and Jean Crawford.

Bill was a graduate of Uniontown High School with the class of 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War then worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for thirty-eight years before his retirement and was affectionately known as Charlie. He belonged to Grace Brethren Church, National Association of Letter Carriers Local 520 as past president and a 50-year member, and was a charter member of the Fayette Federal Credit Union. Bill enjoyed woodworking, camping, coaching basketball and little league softball.

Left to cherish Bill's memory are his loving wife, Joanne Williams Crawford; son Jeffrey William Crawford and wife Tina of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter April Bain and husband Michael of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tyler and Morgan Bain, Logan and Colin Crawford; sister Sandra Sohyda and husband Ed of Uniontown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA, where friends will be received Friday, May 24, from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Bill's life with the Rev. Roland Maust officiating. Interment will be private.

The family wishes to thank Uniontown Healthcare and Rehab Center, Amedisys Hospice and the nurses for their compassionate care of Charles.
