Services were Thursday, February 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln for Harold H. Grosse, 69, of Lincoln who died February 5, 1991, in Lincoln. Rev. Craig Schultz officiated. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.

Harold H. Grosse was born August 26, 1921, in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, to H. H. and Magdalina Harley Grosse. He was baptized September 4, 1921, and was confirmed Palm Sunday, 1935, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs by his father.

He married Adeline Lueshen October 23, 1947, in Lincoln.

He was a salesman for Schwartz Paper Company for 35 years. For 16 years he worked in North Platte.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln and worked with the Lutheran Layman League of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He served as president of the Nebraska District and governor of Region 9. He was also involved with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Alumni Association.

He is survived by his mother, Magdalina of Cedar Bluffs; his wife, Adeline; two sons, Michael of Gunnison, Colorado, and Kevin of South Bend, Indiana; two daughters, Cheryl Essex of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Marilyn Von Busch of Lincoln; a brother, Raymond, of Cedar Bluffs; a sister, Mabel Hormann of Omaha; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Melstedt, Stan Novak, John Borgalt, Edgar Norman, Garlyn Grosse and Merle Lietz.

Honorary pallbearers were Jason Grosse, Justin Grosse, Paul Grosse, Daniel Grosse and Scott Von Busch.

Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Laymen’s League or the Lutheran Hour of Lincoln.

Butherus-Maser-Love Funeral Home in Lincoln was in charge of arrangements.
