Larry J. Cole, 85 of Knox, Indiana passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in LaPorte Hospital following an illness. He was born on September 30, 1934 in Alger, Ohio to the late Lacy and Helen (Marshall) Cole and lived in the area all of his life.
On September 25, 1954 he married Opal Sinn, who preceded his death on March 17, 2019. Larry was a farmer for many years, a retired maintenance worker at Stelrema, and operated Granny’s Wagon with his wife for many years at various festivals and the Starke County 4-H Fair.
He is survived by five children Daniel Cole of Knox, Donna Singleton of Culver, Beverly Chambers of Knox, Jeffery (Marla) Cole of Knox, Roger (Dawn) Cole of Gary; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother Glenn Cole of Hanna. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister Doris Johnson; four brothers Lester, Robert, David and his twin brother Jerry; and two sons-in-law Chester Singleton Jr and Randy Chambers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM CST Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 CST Monday and one hour prior to the Funeral on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions be made to the family.
