Gladys David arrived at her eternal home on October 31, 2002 to be with her Lord and Savior forever.
Gladys was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where she met and married Wes David, her husband of 74 years.
She loved God and her family. As a devoted wife and mother, she was known for her love of cooking, sewing and gardening. She was a loving grandma and showed excitement over the birth of each grandchild and great grandchild.
She was very involved in the Womens Missionary Auxiliary at Northland Assembly where she contributed many hours making quilts and other items. Her missionary work was extensive throughout the world as she and Wes traveled to numerous evangelistic crusades and their involvement in supporting the Bakersfield Rescue Mission and the orphanage in Mexico.

She is survived by son, Edward Alvin David and daughter, Eva Joyce David (McNaughton); a brother, Delbert Ashworth; 12 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes David; her parents; a daughter, Verna Mae David (Puryear); and brothers and sisters.
She was proud of her family. Her family was proud of her and loved her. She will be missed by all.
Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA followed by graveside services at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Monday, Nov. 4, 4 p.m.-8p.m.
