Mrs. Atkinson is predeceased by a brother, Elton Carroll Morgan and a sister, Vera Inez Morgan Smith. Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her husband of 59 years, Reid Atkinson, a daughter, Tammy Atkinson Morgan (Russell), a son, Rodney Atkinson, two granddaughters, Sarah Morgan Loos (Brian) and Madison Morgan Pate (Aaron) and a great-granddaughter, Sinead Isobel Loos. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Atkinson was active in her church, Ebenezer Baptist in Dacula, GA until her illness prevented regular attendance and loved her church family. Mrs. Atkinson was an asset to her community and contributed to many charities as well as leant a helping hand to those in need.
Mrs. Atkinson was a great woman of faith and a true partner to her husband. She was a beloved Mother to her children and always there to support and champion.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 10, 2020 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, the burial will follow at Oakland Community Cemetery, Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road, SW, Lawrenceville, GA 30046; 770-962-3100.
