Robert G. Beyer passed away on February 6, 2020, on his 94th birthday, after a brief illness.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen; daughter, Vivian Chapell; and son-in-law, Roy Tennity.
He is survived by his sister, Eunice Miner; son, Robert (Norma) Beyer; daughters, Doric (Jarl) Boyst, Deborah Tennity; son-in-law, Terry Chapell; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
Robert was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War earning a Bronze Star during World War II. He was able to travel on Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in 2005 and the World War II Museum in New Orleans with the Gary Sinese Foundation in October of 2019.
Family and Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, and from 4 to 8 p.m., on Friday, at the H.E. Turner and Company Funeral Home 51 South Lake Street in Bergen. Robert's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., in Saint Brigid's Church 18 Gibson Street in Bergen. Burial will military honors will be in the spring in Saint Brigid's Cemetery in Bergen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Robert's name to the Mary Cariola Center 1000 Elmwood Avenue Suite #100 Rochester, New York 14620 or the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center c/o Lifetime Care Attention: Donations 3111 Winton Road South Rochester, New York 14623.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of Robert G. Beyer of Brockport, who passed away on 6 February 2020.

Mr. Beyer served our Nation for a total of 9-1/2 years active duty in the U.S. Army from 1944 - 1953 and was both a WWII and Korean War Veteran. During WWII, his MOS was 677-Military Policeman, and he served 24 months with the U.S. Army Infantry in the European Theater of Operations. He was involved in three European Campaigns: Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. During the Korean War, Mr. Beyer served 10 months of foreign duty in Korea. His final Honorable Discharge was on 3 November 1953 with the rank of Master Sergeant, and he earned the following awards: Combat Infantryman's Badge, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/3 Bronze Campaign Stars, Army Occupation Medal, WWII Victory Medal, M-1 Rifle Marksman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal-Korea.
