James “Jim” Patrick Temple, Sr., 76, died Sunday, February 2, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

A native of Bowdoinham, Maine, Temple was a Navy veteran and worked most of his life as a mechanic. While he hailed from Maine, he lived most of his life in Waycross, GA, moving there after marrying his wife, Betty Sue Strickland Temple (a native Ware Countian). Temple was an avid fan of motorsports and had spent a large part of his earlier years working with several well-known race car drivers as a mechanic.

Temple was preceded in death by his wife of forty nine years, Betty Sue Temple (Strickland), his parents, Hollis and Pearl Temple of Bowdoinham, and his sister, Mary Temple.

Survivors include his children, Tammy Dillender (husband Sam), Annette Flood (husband Dondi), Jimmy Temple (wife Nancy), Teresa Carr (husband Allen), and Pam Scobee (husband Bill Harper); two sisters, Sarah Temple McKinnon and Cindy Temple; and his grandchildren and great grandchildren--who were his pride and joy.

A memorial service will be held Thursday (February 6, 2020) at 5:00 PM at Music Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends starting at 4:00 PM. Donations to MattiesMission.org or StJude.org in his name would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
