Mrs. Catherine Connor Caldwell, 80, of 38 Selma Drive, Statesville, passed away at Brian Center Health and Retirement Center following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on December 21, 1933, and was the daughter of Maytric Connor.

She was married to Fred Caldwell, who preceded her in death. Two brothers, Bossie Connor and Leonard Connor, a sister, Leatha Mae Miller and a nephew, Clyde Beaity, also preceded her in death.

She attended Dunbar Elementary Schools.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life a nephew, Louise (Lois) Beaity of Mooresville; four nieces, Betty Ivory of Mooresville, Ada (James) Barringer of Mooresville, Clara Locklear of Winston-Salem and Peggy (Arnold) Norman of Statesville; a brother-in-law, George Miller of Statesville; two sisters-in-law, Mary (William) Miller of Statesville and Catherine Connor of New York; and a host of great nephews, great nieces, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Friday, July 11, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Bibleway #6. Elder Rufus Connor will officiate. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 until 3:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
