Nancy (Ann) was the 4th child of Moses and Eunice (Treat) Tryon. She never married, cared for her parents for the whole of their days, and was that "linchpin" of the family; the aged aunt that everyone knew held all the surviving family documents.

Records show her sometimes using her given name of Nancy and other times using or being referred to as "Ann", which has created some confusion in the genealogical circuit.
