Jeanette E. Davis, age 95 a resident of Edenbrook Medical & Rehab Center in Oshkosh, was called home by our Lord Jesus on January 24, 2020.

Jeanette was born February 14. 1924 to Edward and Florence (Tetzloff) Schroeder in Oshkosh WI. Jeanette remained a resident of Oshkosh her whole life. She graduated from Oshkosh High and while working at Best Bakery she met Gayle Davis whom she married on May 5, 1946. They had 53 years together before Gayle passed away in October 1998.

Jeanette was employed as a secretary at Leach Brother's Factory, Mercy Hospital and First National Bank. In 1960 she and Gayle purchased a bar and restaurant on 8th and Nebraska St. called Gayle's Bar. In 1966 Miles Kimball offered to purchase the property and the decision was made to sell. After the sale of the bar & restaurant, Jeanette worked at Delicious Bakery until she and Gayle retired.

Jeanette enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and doing crafts. However, Jeanette's real passion was Polka Dancing. Gayle and Jeanette belonged to the Polka Club and spent a lot of time traveling to festivals and dances. Jeanette's memories of the Polka days with her Polka pals kept her thriving for all these years and appreciated when her Polka pals would come to visit her at the nursing home.
