Roy J. Amis, 95, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020. He was born in Buckhorn, Kentucky, on February 1, 1924, to Martha Johnson and Luther Amis.
Roy served during World War II from 1939-1945 where he was ranked Staff Sargent.
He was employed at Getty Oil Co. for 38 years.
In his spare time he loved to go camping and fishing.
Roy was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Miller.
Roy is survived by son, Roy Amis,(Deloyes); grandchildren, Cynthia Tessman and Robert Burre; nieces, Paula Brown, Roxanne Day and Teresa Amis; and nephews, Dennis Haywood and Glenn Muscio.
