Winona was born in Loa, Utah on 16 December 1924, to Allen and Lula May (Jameson) Taylor. She was one of fourteen children and the last of her generation.
In 1941, Winona married Joseph Conway Peterson and became a WWII wife. The two raised five children, then divorced.
Winona was gifted, musically. She was a Jitterbug dance queen, sassy beyond belief, never missed sending a birthday card, had the most contagious laugh, and loved with her whole heart. Mom was a great cook and she always gave the best hugs! Hers was a quick sense of humor and she had amazing stories--from the horse and buggy to cars, to men landing on the moon. She also loved to watch BYU basketball and was a big follower of the Utah Jazz.
Winona was a member and had served in various auxiliaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
As a mother of five, grandma to eighteen and great-grandma to thirty-nine, Winona was also her children's biggest fan whenever she attended their softball games, which she loved to do.
Left to cherish her memory are Winona's children, Bert (Kelly) Peterson, Joann Boltis, Sharon Young, Sheila (Keith) Webster, and Sheldon (Debbie) Peterson; along with her many grandchildren.
Winona's family sends their thanks to the nurses and staff at Lifecare as well as the helping hands of those at Lakeview Hospital for their compassionate care of our dear mother and grandmother.
