Lowell J. Taylor, 94, of Henderson Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in his own home with his family by his side. He was born to his late parents, Allen Taylor and Lula May Jameson Taylor on October 21, 1921, in Loa, Utah. From childhood and into his teens, Lowell worked with his father and brothers as a sheep herder, and later, as a young adult, served in WW II as part of the US Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees). Lowell met and married the late Montez Hansen Taylor and they had four children: Lowell Tyrone, Craig, Sherry, and Golden. Following the war, Lowell began work at Geneva Steel in Orem, UT, where he had a long 32 year career. His job was often dangerous, working in extremely high temperatures around hazardous materials. Despite these conditions, Lowell was always grateful for his job and he never missed a day of work. Throughout his life and in retirement, Lowell loved woodworking and was a master craftsman who created countless pieces of art of all types from canes to airplanes. He had an amazing ability to memorize and recall poems and folk rhymes, and could be counted on to recite a few from his vast repertoire whenever asked or if he felt circumstances required his wisdom. Lowell was a warm, generous, selfless and kind man who will be missed by all.
