He belonged to St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.
On April 29, 1967, he married Shirley A. Kruetzer in Victoria. She died May 18, 1996.
Survivors include: a son, John, Walker; a daughter, Kathy Stenzel, Hyas; a sister, Mary Braun, Plainville; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph John Braun; two brothers Wendelin and Alfons Braun; and two sisters, Anna Rohr and Teckla Clark.
