Ray D. Fitch of Barker, NY husband of Linda Caleb Fitch entered into rest Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at home.

He was born in Lockport, NY December 18, 1937, son of the late Dudley and Elsie Burrows Fitch.

A US Army veteran Paratrooper 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles serving his country from 1957-1962.

Mr. Fitch served 3 years in the Army Medical Specialist Corps from 1955-1958. His MOS was 911.17-Medical Specialist, and he was attached to Headquarters Company, 101st Airborne Battalion Group, 506th Infantry. His service included 12 months in Japan. Mr. Fitch was Honorably Discharged from active duty on 10 June 1958 with the rank of Specialist 3rd Class (E-3), and he earned the Parachutist Badge.

Ray owned and operated Ray Fitch Farms and R. Fitch Farm Trucking.

He moved to Barker in 1965 from Youngstown, member of Faith United Methodist Church in Barker, NY, Barker Lions Club, Mason's and Farm Bureau.

Ray was an airplane enthusiast and pilot.

Father of Debbie Maybach, Pamela Cataldi, Pamela Kenny and the late Ray D. Fitch Jr. Father in law of Dawn Fitch. Grandfather of Amanda (Mike) Treharne, Cassandra (Carmen) Panaro, Sarah (Toby) Reiff, Alexandra Cataldi, Ryan (Cara) Fitch and Spencer (Isabelle) Fitch. Great grandfather of Brody, Natalie, Max, Hudson, Lincoln and Teagan. Brother of John (Michelle) Fitch and the late Gary Fitch, Joel Fitch and Joyce Penningroth.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
