Rupert married Edna Peresian of Riceville. He enlisted in the Army during World War I but he didn't get overseas because the war ended while he was in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Rupert joined the Canadian National Railway and he and Edna resided in Coteau, Quebec, until moving to Maxville, Ontario, where he retired in 1956 after 39 years' service. They had 3 children, Harvey, Erma & Bill who all attended schools in Maxville. Edna was very active in the Horticultural Society and won numerous prizes for her beautiful gardens.
