Joyce Ann Herring, 66, of Murphysboro, passed away at 4:44 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Joyce was born on July 10, 1953, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Albert Herring and Marian (Korando) Herring.
She had worked in customer service for her parent's at the former Murphysboro Tractor and Equipment and later at Walmart.
Joyce loved animals and was a donor to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals. When she was able, she liked to travel.
She is survived by five brothers and sisters Barbara of Mattoon, J. (V.) Herring of Murphysboro, L. (D.) Herring of Murphysboro, Patricia and Cynthia , both of Carbondale; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Pettett Funeral Home, with burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
