Brenda Carolyn Saunders, 74, of Lenoir, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care of Hudson with her family by her side.
She was born to the late MB Childress and Hallie Harris Childress on November 12, 1945 in Surry County. In Brenda’s Spare time she enjoyed Quilting, baking and gardening. She was a social butterfly that never met a stranger and loved spending time with her family. She had a contagious smile with kind words to follow.
In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her husband, James Saunders, sibblings, Gay Childress, Scottie Childress, Donnie Childress and Roger Childress.
Those left to cherish her memory is her mother, Hallie Childress, children; Mark Saunders and wife Jennifer, James B. Saunders, Amber Shew and husband Michael, brother; Ronnie Childress, sisters; Jane Phillips, Sandra Childress, grandchildren; Holly Saunders, Ali Bumgarner and husband Madison, Tanner Saunders, Garrison Drum, Elijah Shew, Cheyenne Shew, great grandchildren; Marie Saunders, Tristan Saunders, Iris Smith, close friends; Linda Nelson, Brenda Dula and Diane Pennell.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2019 at 2:00pm at Whitnel First Baptist Church with Stewart White and Pastor Steve Hedgecock officiating. A Visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 526 Robbinswood Place, Hudson, NC 28638.
