Irvin Jacob VanGorder
ELLWOOD CITY - Irvin Jacob VanGorder, 93 , of 117 Fifth St. died in Ellwood City General Hospital at 1 a m. today after a three-week illness. He was born in Perry Township Oct. 6, 1879 to the late Alvi and Rebecca Marshall VanGorder. He was a retired funeral director, retiring in 1946 after 36 years in business located at 123 Fifth St.
Mr. VanGorder was a member of Christ Church United Presbyterian, Ellwood City Lodge 599 F and AM; the 100 F of Ellwood City and the Valley of New Castle Consistory.
He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Gardner in Ellwocd City; a daughter, Mrs. James (Helen) Smith of Chico, Calif.; a sister, Mrs Jennie Wehman of Rlrwrjod City RD 1; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the P.O. Contrucci Funeral Home, 123 Fifth St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be at 11 a.m . Monday at the funeral home conducted by the Church UP.
Entombment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery Mausoleum.
