VICTORIA - Arthur James Rogers left this world the evening of May 15th, 2019, while in his kitchen, of which he was master, and most satisfyingly in his element. Arthur, known to all as "Artie" and "Pops", was born to Arthur James and Ruby Mae Hamill in Wareham, Massachusetts on April 2, 1950, but became a Texan as soon as possible.

His birth father having succumbed to Polio at a young age, Mrs. Hamill remarried Mr. Rufus Hadden Rogers, by whom Artie was adopted and raised. He was a landscaper by trade, baker and chef by choice, and loved gardening, music, and mechanical tinkering. He brought a gregarious presence with him wherever he went, and enjoyed the company of anyone he encountered. His home and kitchen were open to anyone in need, and many young men consider him their "Pops". His thunderous laughter will echo through the hearts of all he touched.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Highway, Victoria Texas, on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 am.

Arrangements and services under the personal care of Grace Funeral Homes & Cemeteries.
