Doris Catherine Repking, 85, of rural Effingham passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, January 27 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bishop Creek with burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a rosary at 3:30 pm. An additional viewing will be from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at the church prior to the Mass. Memorials may be made to HSHS Home Care, Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Chapel at St. Anthony Hospital. Arrangements are in care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Doris was born on June 16, 1934, the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Nacke) Deters. She married Louis Repking on June 1, 1957. They had two sons. Louis preceded her in death in 2001.

Doris was raised on a dairy farm and married a dairy farmer. She stayed busy helping on the farm. She enjoyed visits with family and friends and in retirement enjoyed volunteering with local organizations. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Parish, the Council of Catholic Women and a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis.

Doris is survived by her sons, Dale (Lora) of rural Effingham and Tom (Amy) of Teutopolis; seven Grandchildren; eight Great-grandchildren. Brothers Bob (Dorie) of Teutopolis and Rich (Stel) of Boulder, CO. In-laws: Luella Buscher, Pauline Repking, Jim Deters, Lorraine Zerrusen, Bernice (Norb) Lohman, Evelyn (Ron) Probst, Marge (John) Asbury, Wilma (Joe) Beckman, Mary Jane (Joe) Bierman, Betty (Tom) Pals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, in-laws Allie & Josephine Repking, Louis Buscher, Vernon “Mike” Repking, Louise Deters, Jim Zerrusen and Sr. Ruth Ann Repking.
