Brenda K. Johnston, 79, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Community Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.

She was born on January 16, 1941 in Woodway, Virginia to Leslie and Bonnie (Stewart) Johnston and has lived in the Alexandria area since 1998. Brenda was a graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood-Class of 1958. She retired from AT & T in Fresno, California after 28 years of employment. She was a member of the former Alexandria First United Methodist Church. Brenda enjoyed reading, animals and “caregiving.”

Nieces and Nephews-Sabrina (Ron) Duncan, Rob (Kristen) Slone, Danny Jackson, Tracy Johnston
Grandnieces and grandnephews-Karley, Will, Quinn, Olivia, Carrigan, Ronnie, Steven and Danielle.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-Tisa Merbon Sigler and sister-Saundra Poe.

It was Brenda’s request that there be no public viewing or services. Cremation will take place.
