John was born in New Orleans, LA to the late John Garner and the late Irene Wells. He was the husband of the late Alma Leona Garner. He is survived by 14 children, 4 step, 57 grandchildren, 49 great -grandchildren, and 23 great great grandchildren. He leaves to mourn one brother Charles Page (Marita), and one sister Lulamae Ginn (Tie). He was preceded in death by two brothers Archie Garner, and James Garner, his daughter Patricia A. Forthner, and two sons Shawn Sip, Reginald A. Garner. He retired from Waldemar S Nelson Co Ins. He was an army veteran, and an honorary member of Zulu Social & Pleasure Club.
