Joy Crowley passed away on 1-19-2020 at a relative's home in St. Joseph. She had been under the care of Hospice after suffering two strokes.

She was born on June 28, 1938 in Saint Joseph, Mo to Dillard and Thelma (George) Branson.

While attending Lafayette High School, she took great pride in performing as a majorette. Even in her later years, she loved to twirl her baton.

In 1985, she married her soulmate, Frank Crowley Jr., and they were blessed with 33 wonderful years together. The couple were always together. During the weeks that Joy was ill, Frank never left her side.

Joy owned a second-hand store downtown in the 90s, but she was primarily a homemaker. She loved antiques, collectibles, and finding those special one-of-a-kind treasures. An animal lover, she'd had many beloved dogs and cats through the years and even had a pet turtle.

She never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was loved for her caring heart and her willingness to help others.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Dillard and Thelma (George) Branson; sister, Bonnie O’connell; Children; Dillard Stickley, and a stillborn daughter.

Survivors include Frank Crowley Jr. of the home, children; Bobette Bryan (Dennis) and Grady Heberlee, grandchildren; Annalise Stickley, Nathan Stickley (Sam), Natassja Stickley, Tristan Stickley (Megan), Patrick Bryan, Zacharian Bryan, and Adrian Bryan; siblings Mickey Branson and Phyllis Blue; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She will be cremated at the direction of Simplify Cremations and Funerals in St. Joseph. Her ashes will be given to the family for a private interment.
