Mrs. Edith Alice Jarrett, 66, died last Thursday at her home near Iberia. She had been in ill health for several years. Mrs. Jarrett was born July 29, 1899, in Miller County, near the Hickory Point Church and old Watkins post office. She was the daughter of John Adams and Surrilda Meredith Adams. She was married on Nov. 14, 1923 in Tuscumbia, to John E. Jarrett, who survives.

Mrs. Jarrett was a member of the Iberia Assembly of God Church and served as pianist of the church for several years.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jarrett is survived by two sons, Johannis of Kansasa City, and Tennyson of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Flossie Jarrett, of Iberia, two brothers, Vester Adams of Tulsa, Okla., and Clarence Adams of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandsons and one gradddaughter.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. R.E. Middleton and the Rev. Gene Kury officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Point Cemetery under direction of the Scrivner-Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Bob Jarrett, Don Jarret, Ellis Jarrett, Charles Skaggs, James Jarrett, and Johannis Jarrett, Jr.
