Wayne Leroy Carver, 84 passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 in Dallas Texas. He was born October 20, 1935 in Northern Oklahoma (Peoria/Miami) to Mike and Verna Carver. He joined the Air Force in 1953 where he was a radar operator whose military career took him to such places as Korea, Greenland, Germany and several stateside assignments including Alaska, Montana, and Florida. He retired from the Air Force in 1978 and then started his second career with Texas Instruments where he retired for good in 1998.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His true passion was watching sports: basketball, baseball, football, and especially college football where he remained a staunch Oklahoma Sooners fan all of his life.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home located at 12649 Lake June Road, Mesquite, Texas 75180. The service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home. There will also be a committal service with full Air Force honors at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, Texas 75211.
