Pronounced dead on arrival at Wood River Township Hospital Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. was Robert G. Doerr, 51, of 207 Park Dr., Bethalto. A painter at Olin-Mathieson for 20 years, he had been a Bethalto resident most of his life.

He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Doerr and was born in Bethalto on Aug. 20, 1912. He married Hilda R. Chantlin [sic Champlin]. He was a member of International Chemical Workers Local No. 6, and past master of Bethalto Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 406.

Surviving are three brothers, Vernon L. and William F. of Bethalto and Frank N. of Alton; and five sisters, Mrs. Harry Jarrett of Alton, Mrs. Loyal Gimmy of Wood River, Mrs. Archie Lowe of Rosewood Heights, Mrs. Horace Rutherford of Roxana and Miss Gertrude Doerr of Bethalto.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Bethalto Masonic Temple, conducted by the Rev. Wayne Hoxsie and the Rev. Fred Berghoff. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
