A Memorial Visitation celebrating the life of Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Merriman, 85, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Monroe, will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Visitation will be followed by a private family internment at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pat was born January 20, 1934, and passed away on December 31, 2019. Shortly after her birth she was adopted by Daisy and D.C. Black of Monroe, LA. She was particularly proud of her father who operated the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe for many years. She grew up in Monroe and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School. Shortly after graduation she married husband, Grady Merriman, enjoying many wonderful years together. They were fortunate to have three children: Keith Merriman of Monroe, Kim Merriman of Baton Rouge, and Kurt Merriman of Baton Rouge. She was a devout member of The First Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling, entertaining, and monitoring the latest fashion trends. However, her greatest joy was her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and husband. Her closest survivors include her three children; her daughter-in-law, Farrah Merriman; her grandchildren, Aaron Wardlow (and Denise Esqueda), Halee Saltzman, and Kyle Merriman; and her great-grandchildren Zoe Castellanos and Ella Wardlow .

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her dearest friend Ralph McKay of Houston, TX for his care and consideration of many years.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her loving spirit and kindness will be deeply missed by all.

Memorial may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
