Jack V. Rodgers "Play Ball"

On June 26th Dad left Derks Field to join his loving wife, Shirley in their motor home at Henry's Lake and points beyond. Jack was born on February 27, 1926 to Vern "Buck" and Bessie Rodgers. He married Shirley Anderson on July 26, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He is survived by his children, Randy (Jackie) Rodgers and Mitch (Tammy) Rodgers; siblings, Mary Ann (Jack) Brown and Gerry Larsen; six grandchildren, Ryan (Andrea), Dylan, Lindsay, Jono, Jack and Matt; two great-grandchildren, Miah and Gracie. Dad is also survived by his special friend and companion of the past 15 years, Marie Zaninovich.

He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley, daughter Patti, grandchildren Cassie and David and parents and beloved brother-in-law, Gary.

Dad touched the lives of many people in business and in pleasure from Southern Utah to the tip of Montana covering the largest geographical territory as district manager for Warner Lambert Co. After graduating from South High School, he proudly served his country aboard the USS Guam during World War II, and enjoyed 50 years of membership as a senior member of the Stage Hand Union Local 99 where he worked many shows from Frank Sinatra to the Rolling Stones.

Funeral services will be on Friday, June 29th at 12:00 p.m. noon at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on June 28th and one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society of Salt Lake.
