Estella Jane Jones, 88, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 1:58 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Horizon Health Paris Community Hospital. She was a devoted homemaker and a retired home healthcare provider. She was born April 6, 1931, in Edgar County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Albert W. and Gladys M. (Moore) Hill.
Survivors include four children, Phyllis Trover, Dan Jones, Ron (Bonnie) Jones, and Wanda (Bill) Rue all of Paris; a sister, Mary Finley of Terre Haute, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, Danielle (Shane) Yates, Edward (Brandi) Trover, Morgan (Chris) Smith, Matthew and Patrick Jones, Angel Newman-Hoff (Scott Vandervoort), Gina Unger, Ronald Jones II (Claire Kluetzman), Autumn Laughead (Nick Bast), and Monica and Christina Rue; twenty-six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jane was active in the Edgar County Coin Club for many years and also served as a longtime Election Judge. She was an avid doll collector and had amassed an impressive collection of Shirley Temple dolls and memorabilia.
Services celebrating her life were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Pastor Troy Warner officiated, and burial followed in Edgar Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dan, Marty, Matt, and Ron Jones, Bill Rue, and Ed Trover. Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
