Angela Barberi Favata, of Yonkers, NY, wife of Giuseppe, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY. She was 76 years old.Angela was born October 4, 1932 in Naro, Sicily, a picturesque town located in the Province of Agrigento. She was a daughter of the late Angelo and the late Maria Cremona Barberi. In April of 1960, she emigrated to the United States and later that year she married Giuseppe Favata on December 10, 1960 at St. Lucy's Church in the Bronx. The couple later moved to Yonkers. Angela worked as a seamstress, but spent most of her life as a loving wife, mother and homemaker for her family. Her husband survives in Yonkers. She is also survived by her beloved children, Charles J. and Maria Luisa Favata and her dear sister Lilla Paccinella and her husband, Gaetano.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Church, 670 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at F. RUGGIERO & SONS, Inc., 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704.
