Playwright's Teacher Perishes in K. C. Fire
Independence, Kansas (AP) Miss Anna A. Ingleman, 80, high school dramatics instructor for famed playwright, William Inge and TV Actress, Vivian Vance, [*] was injured fatally in a fire at her home here yesterday [6 Nov 1959]. The retired teacher, who had been in ill health for some time, died of suffocation and shock two hours after fire was discovered in the residence where she lived alone. Fire Chief Olin Pitts said an open gas stove apparently ignited a magazine rack and set the house on fire. The temperature was 17 degrees here last night. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Maude Pingry of Pittsburg, Kansas.
