A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home beginning at 10:30 a.m. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorials in Lois' name may be directed to the Salvation Army Youth Program.
Lois Jean Dietrich was born on June 1, 1946 to proud parents Howard and Evelyn (Brigman) Dietrich in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was one of seven children born to the family. Lois attended school in Marshalltown and eventually graduated as part of the class of 1964. She primarily lived in Marshalltown throughout her life, but spent a period of time in Bunker Missouri. She raised a family of her own having three children: Glen, Elizabeth and Melissa. She worked at Piats Sawmill, JBS Swift's, and even as a foster grandparent.
In her free time, she loved getting to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending church and helping with Sunday school. Lois loved horses, football, going to the Iowa State Fair and her shopping trips with her granddaughter. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Marshalltown, as well as the Bethany United Methodist Church.
Left to remember and cherish her memory are her children: Glen Tasler (Jodi Christansen) and Elizabeth Weatherly (Dan Fisher); her grandchildren: Brandon (Kayla), Brad and Jack Edwards, Ashley Tasler, Carl Weatherly, April Fisher, Leslie Davis, Christine Christansen and Justis Christansen; twelve great- grandchildren; and her siblings, Don Dietrich, Dale Dietrich, Joyce Butler, Dean Dietrich and John Dietrich.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Tasler; her parents, Howard and Evelyn; daughter, Melissa Edwards; and siblings June Innis and Jeannette Dietrich.
