She studied physical education at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she met her husband Joseph Aloysius Williams. They married on June 26, 1948 in Nutley, New Jersey and were residents of Ohio for 42 years. They raised their seven children in Chagrin Falls, Ohio while parishioners of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
They then retired together as residents of North Carolina for 17 years, living at Tryon Estates in Columbus, NC, and were parishioners of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon, NC. Katharine remained the heart of her family throughout her life, and enjoyed golf and sewing.
She is survived by children - Mary Katharine Zellner (husband Larry), Joseph Aloysius III (wife Becky), Sharon Ann Cross (husband Steve), Andrea Lynn Gentry (husband Bill), Mark Andrus (wife Shauna), Margaret Elizabeth Sciuva, and Katharine Elizabeth Downie (husband Joe).
Devoted grandmother of 23, great grandmother of 44, and great-great grandmother of 3. Aunt and great aunt of many.
She also provided Meals on Wheels and other generous services to the Catholic Church during her lifetime. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
