He was a retired surgeon general in the Indian Medical Service and died at 25 Christ Church Road, Folkestone. He was also President of the Medical Board, India Office, London. He was baptised on the 2 Apr 1848, St. Thomas of Canterbury, Brentwood, Essex. Father: Jonathan Haigh Branfoot, Mother: Jane. He went to Indiain 1872 and retired in 1903. In 1911 he was living at The Old House, Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, with his wife (Lucy Inez, nee Carter) a daughter, Ruth Branfoot 23 and three servants. There was one other child, not with them on census night.
In 1914 he was 'of The Barn, Chesham Bois, Buckinghamshire.' Probate to Lucy Innes Branfoot, widow. Effects of £6693 7s.
