Raymond Lewis Lawson, Jr., age 68, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native was born July 5, 1951 and passed away December 28, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a retired instructor with TCAT and the son of the late adoptive parents, Vernard and Mable Lawson; father, Raymond Lewis Lawson, Sr.; mother, Roberta Mantle Oliver; sisters, Suzanne Taylor and Dee Holt and brother, Steve Holt.
Mr. Lawson is survived by wife, Joyce Nabors Lawson of McMinnville, TN; daughter, Leslie Buchanan of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Eli and Araya Buchanan of McMinnville, TN; sisters, Debra Duplechin of Arnaudville, LA and Linda Holt of Ohio; brothers, Ricky (Keeble) Lawson of Rock Island, TN, Timothy (Cristy) Lawson of Manchester, TN, and Tim Holt of Florida; mother-in-law, Brownie Nabors of McMinnville, TN; brothers-in-law, Steve Nabors of Manchester, TN, Stanley (Judy) Nabors of Pelham, TN and Barry (Joyce) Nabors of Rock Island, TN; nephews, Toby (Donna) Wetzel and Jacob Duplechin; nieces, Chrissy Eley, Leeann (Paul) Gibson; special friends, Eddie Muncey, Treva Lawson, Josh and Laura Crosby.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2019 in High’s Chapel with Dr. Dean Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
