Mr. McEntyre was a member of Riddles Bend Baptist Church where he was ordained a deacon in 1947. He was a dedicated Christian, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the armed forces in World War II for five years. He participated in five major battles and received several medals including two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company after 26 years service and later worked at Sherwin Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Ethel McEntyre; brothers, R.T. and Dillard McEntyre; and sister, Ruth Winningham.
